I hvae an early 80's Peavey Dyna Unity Bass, I was wondering if adding a string tree to the non tuilting headstock would hepl incresae sustain on those strings?

Also, The bass is made of Koa and Purpleheart. It's got a hand oiled finnish. I was wondering what will do the best job of cleaning and oiling these woods?
