I have quite a bit of 3/4" thick Zebra wood, enough to laminate and make a 34" scale neck with an angled headstock. are there any pros or cons for using Zebra as neck material?
Thanks, H2:hmm:

Thanks, H2:hmm: neptoon 09-27-2003, 10:05 AM can't think of any pros or cons but the jake kot conklin 7 string that progzilla used to have (can't remember who bought it) had a zebrano laminate neck... http://www.talkbass.com/photopost/data/500/17519Kot02.JPG skguitarsbasses 09-29-2003, 08:40 AM i believe linc luthier uses zebrawood in his necks but he also has some super special patented construction methods fykozonisz 09-30-2003, 03:13 PM My Nordstrand SC5 has a center laminate of Zebrawood in the neck. Works just fine. Chris Benavente also uses zebrawood in his necks every now and then. godoze 10-08-2003, 11:12 AM I would use it for a laminate but not for a whole neck; the stuff moves too much. |
