this Saturday, hoping to join a 'blues/rock/country-ish' trio... Mostly pocket and groove stuff which is where I'm coming from anyway. the guy that I talked to seemed extremely cool, and we seem to have similar viewpoints on roles and such. I'm a bit nervous/pumped...

It was the same way when I auditioned for my current country gig... Everyone seemed pretty cool, and musically, we jelled rather quickly. About a month or so later, I started seeing through the haze to how things really were, personality wise. Eight months into it, things are finally starting to open up, though I was pretty close to bailing a while back...

Oh well, long story short, Saturday's on it's way... Wish me luck!

I have yet to get into a playing situation where the reality was apparent on day one.

That's just the way it goes, people typically put on their best face for strangers (i.e. you as the new guy).

All you can hope for is that you don't just hook up with the band from hell
