I am taking many polls if pop-up ads actually work, which I think they make more people angry than actually selling a product.

Treena Foster 12-26-2003, 10:23 AM No, I close pop-up ads right when they pop-up. I also have popup blockers in place so, they are not as bad as they use to be. I dislike them! http://jm.g.free.fr/smileys/unclassified/smiley_abyb.gif Treena FungusHumungous 12-26-2003, 10:37 AM Invest your money in a little progam you can buy called "Pop-Up Stopper." Its well worth it, destroys 90% of all popups that try to come up(works well on Internet Explorer). Glenn Dave Castelo 12-26-2003, 12:13 PM in before alternative browsers ps: search for Google Bar Oysterman 12-26-2003, 12:13 PM I won't support a company that uses pop-ups as an advertising method. I might get their message, but I'll never buy their product. Sanctum 12-26-2003, 12:16 PM Safari, the browser I use on my Mac, blocks pop-ups automatically, so I never see them anyhow. Zillium 12-26-2003, 12:42 PM The Google Toolbar is your friend.;) LiquidMidnight 12-26-2003, 01:08 PM I dispise pop-ups. I currently have a pop-up stopper installed. I've never been an impulse buyer anyways. dudemeister 12-26-2003, 01:11 PM Originally posted by FungusHumungous Invest your money in a little progam you can buy called "Pop-Up Stopper." Alternatively, instead of closing the popups at once it can minimize them. Matt Till 12-26-2003, 01:12 PM Why do I not have permission to vote on this poll? Frank Martin 12-26-2003, 01:28 PM I even hate TV commercials, I just change channels when theres a block of them; i dont even look at giant posters and stuff... I am a very anti-ad man. Ads are used to sell crap, theres a saying here: "jó bornak nem kell cégér" - good wine needs no bush (or good wine needs no chequer) Dave Castelo 12-26-2003, 02:28 PM why did you made this poll? everyone hates popups, that's a universal fact Killdar 12-26-2003, 02:47 PM what Castelo said times 3. I'm surprised popups have existed as long as they have. Jonki 12-26-2003, 04:51 PM pop-up stopper rocks!! Wrong Robot 12-26-2003, 07:01 PM The browser I use has a built in pop-up blocker, I haven't had a pop-up in about a year.(except when I'm not on my computer) Thor 12-26-2003, 10:16 PM Boy, those Paris Hilton/AOL pop-ups that took over our computer network, Windows NT, and installed itself on 20 people's desktops at work , changed their browser's menu bars and homepages was really popular here at our office. We are just all running out to download that to our home computers as well. My home computer is obsolete , acc to BilGates, it's Win 98 system It may be time to just take a sledgehammer to the whole business, ya know? Stupid polls are well , .... torpman 12-26-2003, 10:35 PM I just feel that it is an invasion of our privacy, it stuns me that companies are even aloud to do it. embellisher 12-26-2003, 11:04 PM This looks like SPAM to me.
