I play a RIC 4003.
It sounds great when I play every pick up by itself. It also sounds great with both of them on the A D and G strings.
The problem starts when is comes to the E. Using both pickups, it sounds dead. I know it's not the string, it's the 5th set (TI's flats, at the moment) I have that problem with.
Could it be out of phase if it effects only the E strings?

Let's try this in Setup... moved.

By simply moving the E string to the A string position you can find out if it's the pick up or not. If the E string works normally in the A position you can be pretty certain that the pup is the prob. Chances are good that you have a prob with the E pup.

I'm sorry but I don't understand the question.

Each pick up sounds perfectly when played by itself.
The problem starts only when I combine both pick ups, and only on the E string.

Man, you've got me stumped. Wish I knew what to tell you. Has it just started doing this or has it always had this prob? It sort of sounds like a phasing prob.

Please let us know what thae prob was when you get it sorted out.

Well... it started after I sold my old Peavey amp, and didn't play the 4003 for a while, till I bought the GK amp.
At first I thought it was the strings, or the amp, but it's not.
That's the saga.
The first thing that came into my mind is phasing,
but could reversed phase effect only one string?

If it ever played properly, phasing couldn't be the prob. The phasing of the pups can't just change by themself.

Yes it,s possible for the two E coils to be out of phase with each other but since it played OK before, that can't be the problem.

I've noticed that the bridge pick up is a little (very little) off side, something like that | \.
That can cause a phase cancelation at the E string.
I tried to fix it, but the screw at the back of it won't move. I reversed the pick up up side down, and it helped alittle, though I'm gonna have to fix that pick up position, ain't I...?

No. It has nothing to do with it. If was, I'd have that problem while playing the bridge pup by itself as well.
