hello ...ive been playing jazz for about a year now and my teacher gave me an assignment to do.. i have to make a walking bassline with some changes he gave me..can somebody please tell me how to make a quality bassline......ill write down the changes in case you curious.. Bb7 for one bar
Eb7 for one bar

sorry i didnt finish the changes... after that its Bb7 for 2 bars
Eb7 for 2 bars
Bb for 2 bars
Cmi7 for one bar
F7 for ne bar
Bb7 for one bar and F7 for one bar

Sounds like your teacher has you playing the blues.

I think this has been discussed at length and is probably in a newbie section somewhere, and there is likely a chorus in the wings waiting the sing the 'Get Thee to a Teacher' bit, but I'm feeling benevolent and too lazy to go find the posts and soo will give you a bit.

First off, you're going to have to know the cycle of 4ths and the scales that go with the chords. Before I go too far and sound like gibberish, answer me those two questions.
