http://www.talkbass.com/forum/images/editor/insertimage.gif <-- look for this in the post creation window and use it ;) (you need the address of the online image too... you can 'right-click' the image on a page and in properties get the URL. Keep in mind if you don't have permission to use the direct link, it's considered bandwidth stealing. you can save the photo locally and attach to your post as well)

Yeah. Thanks. It's kinda funny: people idolize Macca, mostly for his work on Revolver and Sgt Pepper, and he usually cites Brian Wilson's playing on "Pet Sounds" for him changing his style to the more melodic bass he played on those albums. However, what Sir Paul may not know is that Carol Kaye played bass on all of that (but yes, Brian did write the parts for her to play and Lyle Ritz played upright on that stuff too.)

I don't know man - I don't really know ladies fashion, but I say; when the top matches the skirt and they're hooked together, then it's a dress. Look at the picture, it's a dress. But I guess when you are able to make love to a woman for ten to twelve hours strait, you don't need to prove your manhood with little things like wearing mens clothes. :ninja:

Just so everyone knows, I don't know what I did that was offensive, I'm trying to get that figured out right now, but I'm sorry.

P.S. For the record, those who thought I was insulting Mr. Ryan from Mudvayne, I wasn't. I was stating a fact about someone else which may have been taken as an insult, but I don't know if it's against the rules, I'm trying to get that figured out. Sorry for... whatever it is I'm suppose to be sorry about. :p

Well don't even get me started on London Calling as an album. I mean you have the title track, then rock-a-billy "Brand New Cadillac", "Jimmy Jazz", and... well, hell, all the songs have awesome bass parts. I mean, no reason for me to go tracj by track and preach the wonders of something that is so clearly a work of art ;)

The question that comes to mind is "Did he wear the gloves while playing?"

I was thinking about wearing medical issued latex gloves for a show once..... for no real reason, it seemed like a good idea at the time (was drunk....). That's the same evening I learned that I was pretty allergic to latex. The gloves never made it long enough to get played with :p

haha, ah well, that was my background for ages, and it was the first vidcap, he made all the others after i sent him that one :) and if people get some use out of it it's all good. What pic did you send him?

Oh yeah, i think I remember reading somewhere on here that you talked to Stu and (maybe?) Toby about Jay and stuff... Care to elaborate on that? I'd be interested to hear it!

:D Peter Gabriel is an odd fellow to say the least

He bounced in a 20 foot tall clear bubble, rode one of those "lean and it moves" personal transport scooters, wore a suit of light bulbs, wore a helmet with a "fisheye lens" camera pointed at his face.... etc etc etc during last years tour.

very odd... yet entertaining ;)

No doubt, my biggest inspiration, Doug Wimbish (along with the whole Living Colour Band). Living Color, the Muzz days, was the first CD that I listened to to learn bass lines.. When Wimbish took over, it just took it to a new level for me. Meeting Doug, although very briefly after a show, was a high point in my musical career.

I can't believe nobody has posted Christian McBride yet. He is my absolute favorite . . . on upright, and electric. I'm going to post a picture of his on electric just to tick off the DB guys!

I have to say that is one of the sickest bassists around as well... I saw him with the Pat Methany Trio (w/Antonio Sanchez on drums) last year... That Pensa really sounds great as well.

Here's the man responsible for my Bass-whoring madness. Not many of you know who he is, he's the Bass player for one of the greatest bands in existence, the Japanese band known as L'arc en Ciel. His name is Tetsuya Ogawa, but he's better known as just "Tetsu".

...
The influence. :bassist:

That's so random. Just today I was introduced to that band for the first time through an Asian friend of mine who played some of their CD while showing off his new audio system.

I'm seriously bummed not to be able to catch any more of your shows ( or a lot of these other ERB folks for that matter ). We need more of you wacky cajuns to take road trips up into yank land. However, it would be tempting to hop a plane and come down and see that show if the two of you would swap instruments for a song or 2... :D

BTW, Glad to hear you're playing N.O. Jazz Fest. I'll have to let my Uncle-in-law and Mother-in-law to check you out.
