I saw Sting at the Orpheum in Boston last night (intimate 2800 seat theatre). It was an incredible show. He opened the concert playing upright on "Walking On The Moon." His main electric was not his usual '53 Precision. The one he used last night was also an early 50's P-bass (or replica), sunburst (no pickguard), maple fretboard, but a single J pup where the p normally resides. Does anyone know anything about this bass?

Doh! :hiding: I guess I never looked at the Fender Sting Signature that closely. I assumed that it had the conventional split P pup. Thanks for the clarification. :)

:smug: no problem! it's a great looking bass. Both my current and my soon to be basses are styled after that era of P bass.
