Does anyone know stuf from the spanish flamenco/jazz player Carles Benavent?
You HAVE to check him out, he's one of those natural basstalents.

I bought these three cd's when I was in Barcelona last week: Aguita que corre, Fenix and a Live album called El concierto de sevilla (highly recommented!).
If this player doesn't inspire you then I don't know what does.
I really don't know why he hasn't been on the cover of bassplayer in all those years (yeah, a small article some years ago)

I bought an album by a Saxophonist called Juan Pardo because Carles was on it. Really amazing playing. I think he was using his fretless EB-2 at the time.

I'd really like to buy his solo record. Apparently, there are a couple unheard Jaco compositions on it. The problem is it costs about $35 here in the US and I'm not keen on spending that much so I'm waiting.

who made his hollowbody 5string (shaped like an EB2) that he was pictured with in Bass Player?
