Here's the hardest working bass player in New Orleans, in the square. Both he and his bass were wrapped up with cloth. He was light-skinned, so I guess it was to avoid sunburn. Dunno about his well-traveled bass, though I must admit the duct tape was a nice touch.

Bob:
I thought that when I looked real close, I could see a "D.H." monogram on his jacket.
I guess the Mirecourt doesn't travel well.

What kind of gig is that? Sax and banjo? Guitar and washboard? Double bass? Is it some sort of New Orleans thing?

Definitely a NO thang. A couple guitars, washboard, bass, sax, clarinet (out of range) trombone, plus others that came and went. And they were quite good.

If you see me on a gig like that, the label in the bass will say "Georgia-Pacific"
