What's the deal on these strings? Found them on ebay for $40 delivered. If these strings are really all that bad, then what kind should I look at?

Take some time and read the String Forum. I can't really say which strings are best, this is just as subjective as getting a bass.

As a starting point, find a bassists sound you like, see what strings they use. Plus are you going to be doing a lot of arco?


A new set of strings can cost $100-$400 depending on what you want. Check out the For sale here on TB...some great deals can be had.
