I have some walnut burl around that I am thinking of making a bridge out of. The bridge would be for an electric upright. It would be very small, probably only and 1" tall at the highest point of the radius. I was wondering if you guys think the walnut burl would perform well in this application. I know it is much less dense than woods usually used for this(rock maple, ebony, rosewood, etc..). Do you think walnut burl would be strong enough and have good tone?

Walnut is not particularly strong, burl generally makes a wood weaker. I probably would not take the chance.
