Argh.... The E and G on my 62 RI Jazz are too loud compared to the A + D. Does anybody know of a workaround for this as opposed to dropping £100 on a pair of Dimarzio's with adjustable pole-pieces?

I currently have my bass set up so that all the strings are the same volume, but this forces the action on my E + G strings to annoyingly high levels. :(

Could it have something to do with the way your amp is EQ'd? If you're boosting low & high frequencies and/or cutting mids, that could do it. Flatten your eq and see if the problem persists.

Other than that, maybe some compression would help.

Hmmm thanks for the thinking, thinker.

Perhaps I will try a bit more compression - although it is definitely not my EQ - I've checked the bass going straight into a VU meter!

cheers anyway, dude
