VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : TK Instruments, anyone?

Hey guys-
I know this is probably a long shot, but does anyone have any experience with a TK Instruments custom EUB? I'm looking for something unusual, a.k.a. I'm NOT trying to emulate a real double bass, as I already have access to that for straightahead jazz and the like. I'm looking for something for groove-jazz and hip-hop, something that can be played louder and lower with a lot of bottom and an unconventional look. I'd also like something I can afford. Then, I came across this:

www.tkinstruments.com/id32.htm

Now, the 35" doesn't impress me (I'd prefer full 3/4 scale of at least 40"), but everything else does, and he says he'll do custom scales for a reasonable price.

Any stories of his work OR votes for another instrument are MUCH APPRECIATED.

Thanks so much!

Dan

The RMC pickup is made by Richard McClish I think.
Overall the instrument seems to be well done, and well adapted to short scale (34 or 35") but I'm wondering how it'd look with a 40" scale.
Maybe similar to the Hemage EUB?
