Hey Bizarro,
The term 'transparent' is used to describe amps and cabinets that, to the listener's ears, offer pure amplification without coloring the sound of the bass.

It was always my understanding transparent meant a sound with very crisp clear highs. Or just to describe how much highend is in a sound.

I have to agree with Dave Siff on the meaning of transparent in audio terminology.

"transparency". SWR's Aural Enhancer Control was developed to bring out the fundamental low notes of all instruments, reduce certain frequencies that help mask the fundamentals, and enhance the high end transients.
