Hey guys,

Stretching myself playing with an awesome gypsy jazz guitarist...would love some advice, etc. on alternate jazz walking lines.

I'm not talking about rhthym changes solely - much of the music is built around them. I'm just looking to expand the "jazz run" arsenal with your ideas.

thanks!
Jay

If it's gypsy jazz guitar you might want to try playing more two-step kinds of bass lines rather than walk. I dunno, that's just what I think.

Yep just listen to all the greats to get an idea of what they did. I kind of think of gypsy jazz as a cross between jazz and folk/bluegrass. There's lots of 2-stepping and runs on the turnarounds and changes.
