Out of curiosty, could someone make a sheet like this with different scale patterns? I've been trying to find such a thing.

Good stuff - any plans to put in the 5-fret scale paterns? I think that would make it a lot more complete. That way it covers pretty much all notes of any diatonic, melodic minor, or harmonic minor scale with any finger on the root without having to skip notes, such as the major 7th in major scale pattern 2.

The is only one circle of 5ths. There isn't a separate one for bass clef. Even the key signatures are the same. I'm not sure what he was talking about.

Thanks again everyone for all the feedback!

I think my vocalist was pointing out the fact that you had a treble clef stave in there rather than a bass one (I'm assuming that the sharps/flats would be the same note just on a different line in Bass Clef) but even they admitted it was cool

I bet that was it, I couldn't find the key signatures with the bass clef. And I was to lazy to make them my self.

Personally, I wouldn't call the vii chord diminished, I'd call it half-diminished or minor 7 b5. With triads it doesn't matter, but diminished infers different tension tones than half-diminished.

If I showed you what they should look like on bass clef, or found something you could copy and paste, would you update it? I think it would be more helpful, within the context of your "cheat sheet," to show the key sigs in bass clef, or maybe both bass and treble clef if that's more what you want...
I'm just picky about this sort of thing I guess...

I'm not too worried about the clef on the circle of 5ths but you should (largely) be using flats rather than sharps for the left hand side.

for example to the left of F should be Bb, not A#, it's only an a# if you go ALL the way around clockwise to get to it. (and then the F is an E#)

I would like to ask a question on the Major scale on this if I may. I am new to bass so if I am misinformend let me know. I saw this yesterday thread and played it this major scale this morning. I am OK on the major scale with patterns 1, 2, & 4. But with 3 and 5 there is a note/s missing.
#3 goes A-B-C-D-E-F-G-A-C-D. Missing B
#5 goes D-E-F-G-A-C-D-F Missing both B&E Do you add these in?? I am not sure of myself with scales and this just did not sound right. The pattern I learned for guitar was 3 notes per string starting on the root.
Thanks as I am confused

Kudos for making your cheat sheet - I will definitely print it out and
keep one in my bass case and put up one on my wall.

Here is the fretboard that I created awhile back. This is a big image that is best printed on 8 1/2 x 14 inch legal paper. This is great for hanging on the wall in a practice area because it's easily visible from a fair distance.
