Francois Blais 05-09-2001, 07:52 PM Jargar strings are mostly known with violists and cellists. They're made in Denmark. The company is quite small; about 16 or 17 employees. The bass strings have a soft, gut-like tone. However they had a problem about six months ago and stopped production completely. (some specialized workers in the string finishing stage left the company) But I heard production could start again soon. Better contact Chris Quinn (chris@quinnviolins.com) about this. He is better placed to answer this question. Maybe Lemur Music (www.lemur-music.com) (1-800-246-2277) has some left in stock. Hope this helps! |
