I love slap bass from Victor Wooten to Claypool, and was just wondering what are the best instructional books out there. I've seen a few with DVD's included and all, and would really like to know which one of few of these are the best, most comprehensive ways to learn the art of slap bass.
Thanks

Some may think that my suggestion is dated because all the new slap stuff shown by people like Wooten or Claypool, but I think that getting this book (http://www.slapit.com/) right will give you a solid, strong foundation in "the art of slap bass".
Hope this helps.

While Oppenhiems book is good. I would describe it as old school.90% of the examples are in E, there's no enfasis on space. It will learn you to solo a wanky slap solo in E well! I've been going through it lately.
I would recomened this book as well. Not instead of.

It's a good book, comes with a cd, and it gets challenging fast, so it should keep you busy
