I put on my new GHS pressurewounds on my corvette on monday and today i felt like i wanted to try the E on my Warmoth '51 P to see if i should get them to that bass too. Anyway, the '51 is string thru body and the corvette is not that, now when i switched back i have this bump below the bridge pup in the string from the bridge, have i just made a bump in the string or have i shortened the life of the string? I don't feel that it has changed sound or anything. Should i worry?

Hi - I think there is a lot of nonsense talked about strings don't do this with them don't do that etc.You say they sound ok I think they should be then.

I doubt it, unless the string was bent for a long time under high pressure. That definitely weakens the string a bit. You switched it for less than a day... I wouldn't worry. The string regains its natural shape very quickly under the tension.
