hey, I am in the process of building a custom bass, or still in the planning stages, a double cut les paul flat top, exept not like the gibson bass les paul, the double cut where both horns come out equally, liek the guitar version. anyway, how would i go about carving out the neck pocket for the neck? woudl i just ark it and use a router to shave it? or somthign else idk.
Thanx for the help

BTW- The neck is gonna be a warmoth 4 string (fender specs)

I would advice you to buy a book on this topic, cus i'm sure more questions like this is going to come up as you progress.. but to answer your question.. a router and a template is what you need, you could use a pillardrill in advance to save the router some trouble.
