VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : FS: Roscoe LG3005 Fretless
jokerjkny 08-16-2005, 08:01 AM SOLD
hey all,
selling my very lonely LG3005. been sitting in the corner of the studio, and made me realize i'm NOT an "unlined" kinda guy. so it has little to NO wear on the impenetrable diamondwood fretboard. body weight is very light, too, as requested and ordered. other than that, there are no blemishes, marks, etc. to speak of. give it a good home!!!

oh! bump ! :D
GRoberts 08-18-2005, 02:56 PM That would make a SMOKING Fretted Bass. Frets could be added couldn't they? What a sweet looking Roscoe! free Bump
jokerjkny 08-22-2005, 02:37 AM no love from the "unlined" fretless crowd?
dooft11 08-22-2005, 03:47 AM but i just wonder how the maple fboard compare to the 'traditional' ebony?
jokerjkny 08-25-2005, 07:23 PM the maple diamondwood is not nearly as brittle sounding.
FYI, none of the fretless basses i've owned had an ebony board. not really a fan of the stuff. again, ebony for my ears has always had a hard brittle tone, that no matter the body wood, i could never dial it out.
the maple, on the other hand, is quite smooth sounding with a nice open airy top end. IMHO, its a terrific fretless material when coupled with the nearly indestructible "diamondwood". i was really bummed that Keith cant redo the neck w/ fretlines, due to the tough nature of the board.
but my loss is another's "unlined" gain. ;)
OpaqueBass 08-26-2005, 11:08 AM free bump for a gorgeous bass
elwood 08-26-2005, 11:40 AM What an exceptionally beautiful piece, even for a Roscoe.
Killer price, too.

T. B. Player 08-27-2005, 08:59 PM WOW!!
You're absolutely right on the ebony vs. maple!! If this only had 6 my search would be over! Must really think about this - it's WAY too pretty and since it's a Roscoe - it's THE sound!

When you come up with one, let us all know - Hey!! Maybe an idea for another thread in the "Misc" section - "Best stories to use when getting a new bass"

I went 15 years owning the same bass, then recently bought two in a one week span. I told my wife "it's really not bad if I buy two basses every 15 years". Went over smooth as butter, but now I can't buy another bass unitl 2020. :( :)

No, that's 2 basses every 15 years...that's one every 7.5. Think of it as your "Independence Day Gift" in 2012! :D
