Is this song tuned a half step down 2. what the hell key is this song in i cant tell Chopper 09-30-2005, 02:29 PM Yes! All the SRV songs Ive ever learned are down a 1/2 step The key is in E with the adjusted tuning. Click here > http://www.tommyshannon.com/ look in the misc section for pride and joy bloopers. bonscottvocals 09-30-2005, 10:01 PM Yep, you'll find that SRV played with thick strings (he actually played a mixed set) and like most blues players, he tuned down a 1/2 step, so in standard, play it in Eb, or tune down and play the open E string (now tuned to Eb). I usually just play it in E. There's an excellent book called The Bass Tab White Pages (http://www.halleonard.com/item_detail.jsp?itemid=690508&order=0&catcode=00&refer=search&type=product&keywords=bass+white+pages+) that you might want to check out from Hal Leonard publishing. It is in there. http://www.halleonard.com/item_gif/00690508.gif I got my copy at Guitar Center. Good luck and have fun. edited to add... I mentioned this book, because there are a few SRV, Beatles, Queen, and other good songs in there, including "Pride and Joy". |
