I'm having a really hard time understanding what you're asking.

By palm bass, do you mean a bass made out of palm?

The electronics you need just a volume control is... a volume control (a 250K or 500K audio taper pot).

I don't know what you mean by a 2 attached J-pickups. Do you mean something like this: http://www.riograndepickups.com/5.html



Or do you simply mean a humbucker in which both the coils go across all of the strings?
