A couple details to add:

The solid ash bodies are one piece solid ash.
In the colors, there are 2 of each except the Cherry Sunburst and the Trans Black (there may only be one of the Trans Oranges available as well...right James? ;) ).

Personal comment time: These guys are lookin' great, and I have a feeling they're going to sound even better, based on the few solid ash basses we've built in the past (all two of 'em ;) ). They're good enough that I've just put my next personal bass in the schedule, and it will be a one piece solid swamp ash body with a satin natural finish as well!

...there will also be a couple "surprise specs" when the basses arrive, sort of a gift for the TPB guys. Nothing extreme, but some "nice touch" things...

:ninja:

Yeah, we've asked Gard and the guys to number one of the Trans Orange basses TPB001, and our intention is to keep that one at the shop! ;) So technically, only 9 of the 10 being made will be available for purchase.

We're all really anxious to get those basses over here!

Thanks Gard!

So, will that one just be used for testing new amps and stuff? Or just for a Roscoe display of beauty?

Probably both.

Damn. Part of me really wants to see these when they are done, but another part of me is afraid I am really going to want one. And that just isn't in the cards right now. I've bought two in the matter of a few months, so my wife would literally kill me if I started working on her for number 3 so soon.:help:

They're DONE!

However, thanks to a shipping snafu with our case supplier's trucking company, they're all just sitting here in the office waiting on cases...

:hmm:

...we've been promised cases on Tuesday of next week, they'll leave here on the way to TPB the same day, should be "in house" there by Thursday.

VERY impressive! They look great!

From the shots, my faves are the amber, natural.....and I am surprised how nice the blue ones came out!! I think I prefer the "natural" headstocks vs. the colored ones.....:eyebrow:

I would love to see the black one!:D

THEY'RE HERE!!! My goodness, Keith and the guys at Roscoe have outdone themselves.... These basses are INCREDIBLE! Some of the punchiest Roscoe basses I've had the pleasure of playing...EVER!

The Low B on the first one we plugged in was stunning... Earthshaking actually...

They're definitely players, with a super punch, fast response with some pretty strong HONK and just a cutting tone that I've yet to experience with a Roscoe bass (until now).

They are very different animals from the standard Roscoe fare and we can't be more thrilled!

The look of the basses are much more than we expected as well! ALL of them, and I mean EVERY ONE is a looker! There's not one of these basses without outstanding grain and beauty!

Pics to come!! Great job Roscoe!!! :)

What a nice bass. Feels great and has a very clean - slightly aggressive tone. It growls nicely when played at or behind the bridge pickup. Pre-amp allows for a huge variety of tones. It's going to take a while to dial in what I like - but so far I think its a keeper!!

Hangs nicely on a strap - north of parallel but not striaght up. Body is small - I had to shorten my strap to get it in a better playing position. I wear it higher than my jazz style basses.

Light weight. The case is far heavier than the bass - almost too heavy. Would have preferred a Sadowsky-like case, I think.

So far - two thumbs up.

More after rehearsal tonight.

Thanks - just got home from rehearsal - and the bass sounded great with the band. Not only is the B string great - open, but all the notes up the neck on the B are strong and clear. Band mates liked it.

I usually play 19mm spacing - these are (according to Gard) 18.15mm. I can tell the difference - felt slightly tight - but I bet that will go away with practice.

Hey Eggman, congrats on the new Roscoe, it is very cool.

I have a question about your picture though. Did you get caught having a very "eggy" idea,or is that a real egg on your knoggin?

If so, how in the world did you get it to stand up like that. It is a very cool pic. lol

Egg balancing can be done only two time a year - during the Vernal Equinox and the Autumnal Equinox - so..................

My favorite too.

I just wanted to say that this thread made me realize that the reason I couldnt decide on what kind of top I liked best is because I like no top! if I ever get a Roscoe in a few years, itd be similiar to these limiteds in that sense. Ash body, enhanced grain, birdseye maple fingerboard, demeter preamp.. I can see it now.

Buy the Roscoe and don't buy such an expensive amp!! The bass is way more important IMO.

I have two Roscoes and NO bass amp and I play every week of the year using a Di and the PA/Monitor.

IMO you only need a small/medium combo for almost any application - larger gigs have PA.

When you are rich and famous spend money on amps (or get given them as an endorsee:D )

My 0.02$

Yes but the idea being that I already have two fantastic basses that I love (my ebmms) whereas I have an amp that is Okay. The amp is the weakest link right now in getting the tone I want. I have no complaints about my basses whereas my amp is not the tone I want right now.

EDIT; I'm thinking about buying a Roscoe in about a year....
