VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Sklarevsky's "Slap Bass" Video...
Bass-A-Nova 08-27-2001, 02:46 PM For months I've been seeing this video touted here on TB; and yet I've searched Amazon, EBay, Musician's Friend and other sites and can't find it anywhere. Local music stores don't have it either. Anyone know where I can pick up this video? I want to start really focusing on slap techniques, and this video seems to keep popping up as one to get...thanks
Boplicity 08-27-2001, 09:38 PM He used to advertise the video in Bass Player magazine, not a full page ad. It was one of those small ads at the side of a page. I don't know if he still does advertise it, though. You could check a recent issue.
Slater 08-27-2001, 10:00 PM I own The Slap Bass Program with Alexis Sklarevski, and Fingerstyle Funk with Francis Rocco Prestia. I think both are great instructional videos. (Video Progressions also has a 3rd bass video called The Art of Tapping, which I have not seen).
Click below for Info. and ordering at the Video Progressions site.

Bass-A-Nova 08-28-2001, 07:14 AM Thanks, Slater & Jason - the website's a big help. Surprised they don't distribute it through other retail venues? Looks expensive, but from what I'm hearing about this tape, it's probably worth it...

De nada, Joe. I don't know what GC wants for it. But with Elderly, you can tell them to send the catalogs, too, and look at all the gear you used to own!
FatFunker 09-07-2001, 09:03 AM has anyone actually order sbp from these guy's? I just did and i am curious as to how long it takes to get shipped.

Man, no kidding!! Just checking out their site was like a walk down memory lane! And the prices are pretty decent as well.
BTW, GC wanted the list $49.95 for the video. Not bad but, I just hate giving those eightballs any of my money for anything.
Harry Lime 09-15-2001, 11:17 PM Hey, I just clicked on that ELDERLY.com link and found something I might want to purchase... Here's the link: WORKING BASS (http://www.elderly.com/books/items/49-330596.htm)
What do you think? It's $18.95. I would love to become a traveling bass player... Just work for myself...like a traveling salesman would.
