im rockin it in Rock Hill at Winthrop University, well right now im at home in Washington DC for the summer till i move into my own place at school. we got a great music program at WU and ive definately met some insane bassists that are music majors. all those folks play upright in their classes and school bands but have electrics as well. im not a music major myself but i do spend more time on the bass then on the books.

I'm not from South Carolina but I am going there on holiday soon. We're doing Hilton Head, Charleston and Myrtle Beach. Any music stores I should check out while in Myrtle Beach?

Heh, that's the trick. I know there are some innovative musicians
and decent bands around here, but holy crap! the only ones that get any attention (even in the small press) are achingly average cover bands and acoustic frat-rock-type bands.

I'd be all for a GTG in Columbia, but scheduling and a place to meet would be problems for me. I'm a single parent, no car, and weekends I have to work 16 hour days.

i'm in greenville well actually blue ridge but i doubt anyone knows where that is. i'm 19 would love to learn from someone around here cause i'm pretty knew to electric bass but i'm a college kid and got very little money so just to be able to meet up with someone(s) every once in a while and talk or just watch some experience at work would be great. if anyone's interested in helpin a young bass player out pm me.

Em, well, I live in Calabash, NC, which is right there on the SC/NC line north of Myrtle.

Oh, and to answer someone's question before about any music stores in the area really worth seeing, there really aren't many. There's a music store in the Coastal Grand Mall called Andy Owings where I've seen a Squier Classic Vibe bass priced at $549. No joke. If I had my cell phone on me at the time I would've taken a picture of the price tag.

I'm playing at a couple Wet Wille's on July 3rd & 4th.
