Nov. 11th Oswego, NY Guitar festival with Mike Stern Trio featuring me and Lionel Cordew..........

For anyone who's interested: Janek's playing with Mike Stern at the 55 Bar in NYC tonight and Wednesday, and then on the 14th and 16th also.

I'll be swinging by Janek; looking forward to it!

Looks like it's the 16th and 21st of this month now. i think Anthony will do the 14th at the 55.

I'll also be playing the J&R jazz festival in NYC down at City Hall Pakr with Mike Stern. It'll feature Bob Franseschini on tenor and Richie Morales on drums. It's a free outdoor concert and it's on the 26th of Aug at 2pm.

Mike still kills after all these years. Must be a real pleasure
playing with him! I saw him last time I was in new york
(about 4 years ago) with Richard Bona, and Terri Lyne
Carrington. I think that show really cleared up alot of doubts
I had about wanting to be a performing jazz musician...

it sure is a real pleasure working with Mike. he's an incredible human being as well as being more dedicated to his art than almost anyone I know.

any chance of seeing you this summer at the Montreal jazz fest with Mike Stern?

I don't think I'm doing any of the montreal dates with Mike. I'm going to be on tour with Jojo Mayer's band nerve all across europe and some of asia, and won't be back in the US in time for the Stern stuff.

Some cool stuff coming up in NYC though if anyone's around....

going to be doing a DVD release show for marko djordjevic's instructional DVD that I played bass on. that'll be the 12th of July at the drummer's collective in NYC. I'll also be filming my own DVD around the same time too, so I hope to be making an announcement of it's release this summer.

Hey Janek, was wondering if there's been any recordings made of you playing with Stern, even bootlegs, that you know of, really interested to check that out.

there was a DVD thing we did for Guitar One magazine that came out last year. I think I might have a copy of it somewhere.... maybe I could leak it to youtube or something...

other than that, I'm not really sure. Maybe someone bootlegged a gig at the 55bar or something, but I haven't heard it if they did. I would be into checking it out though.

Yeah man if you could get your hands on anything, it'd be great to check out. I'm interested in seeing how you as an individual plays that particular gig as opposed to Lincoln Goines, or Bona, etc.
