So I was watching television, and this infomercial comes on for the "Singers and Songwriters" collection. One of the short clips was The Bryds doing Hey Mr. Tambourine Man. I turn off the TV, pick up my acoustic guitar and first time (I checked with chord sites) played the chord progression! That coupled with my ability to learn by ear crappy hip hop melodies can only mean one thing:
my ear is improving!
Thanks talkbass :D

That's awesome, congrats man.
Similar thing happened to me last week, heard the beginning of "Radar Love" on the radio, decided I would figure out the opening riff. Worked on it for about 15 minutes and figured it out.
:hyper:
It's funny, but I also had to check a tab site make sure I was right. I didn't trust myself until I saw that someone else heard it exactly the same way.
