Well...I'm like a total beginner in Bass I'm pretty good with my acoustic but I really want to start playing bass...but I firstly don't have the cash at the moment to buy books and stuff to teach me and that really sucks!

I have a 4-string bass guitar with amp, but I really have no clue on how to play, so I would really appreciate it if any one of you could like help in some or other way!

Any Help is acceptable and would be gladly taken!

Can you budget for some lessons with a local instructor?

The best investment is always in yourself anyway. That way, you probably will be glad for all the things you won't have to 'unlearn' later on, and you'll be ahead of the game.

I can probably find some one...Its just the time...I kinda busy its just in the mornings I have a few hours open but who would give classes 6am to 8am?

Lessons do go a long way, especially for technique. I took lessons a few years ago(not even a whole lot) when I first got my bass, and after a few months of practicing I stopped playing. Well, about 2 to 3 years later I got a new bass and small practice amp, I was able to just pick it up and play, using proper technique and all, though I did have to relearn what little theory I did know.

There are resources available online. The one I would recommend is Wheat's Bass Book.

I regret not taking lessons when I first started.:( I'm off to college, though, so I will look into them there.

Thanks! I started to practice on my own now, got a little help from some other guy, just a few lessons to practice at home until he gets an open time
