Well, it's been a few years since the last offical GTG. So this time we're going to do it a little different.

Where? - Singletary Rod & Gun Club
Located on 300 Sutton Ave. Oxford, Ma. 01540
www.singletaryrodandgun.com/ (http://www.singletaryrodandgun.com/)

We'll have access to both indoor (if it rains) and outdoor. There is bar, so be sure to bring your ID if you plan on drinking. there's also a pool table.

When? - August 20th. Yes, it's a Sunday, but it was the only day that was available.

Food? - Burgers, hot dogs, ribs, chips, potato salad, soda. If there's anything you'd like to bring, by all means, please do.

Bring your rear, bring your gear, grab a beer, and have a good time with the rest of us!!!

I'm not sure of what time it starts yet, but either Funkster or myself will chime in with more details as we know.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to shoot me a PM, or email me joe@bassnutz.com

I hope to see you there!!!

(Could a Mod please sticky this?)

Joe Turski

So, does that mean you'll be there?

Bryan R. Tyler

I'll see about getting a ride- my wife's having ankle surgery two weeks before then, so she won't be able to drive.

Yeah! I would like to go. What could be more fun than basses, guns, and booze!

The only thing that may stop me is some unscheduled VK time, but count me in.

I'm going to pencil it in my calendar. Since I've never been to one of these, what can I expect?

Lots and lots of noise ;) That and the benefit of being able to talk about your G string in a room full of men and knowing no one's going to make fun of you :D

Fred

It's a chance to play other people's gear that you wouldn't normally get a chance to play. It's also a good way to get to talk shop and meet some other bass brethren.

Not to mention a cool atmosphere with food, booze, strippers........wait, scratch that last one. Unless Bryan plans on stripping? :ninja: :p

Harry, I'd give you a ride, but I wont have any room in my car with all the gear & food I'm bringing.

Freddels
07-20-2006, 06:24 AM
Cool. Is there a cost? What should we bring?

Funkster
07-20-2006, 06:30 AM
Hi guy's I don't get over here (TB) very often but this will be a great time at a great place. The time will be 12-6pm. The Bassnutz crew thought it was time for meet&greet/gearfest. The last one we did was good but this one will be great!. We haven't worked out all the details yet but more to come.
Harry if Thor come's maybe you can hook up with him?

Funkster
07-20-2006, 06:33 AM
Cool. Is there a cost? What should we bring?
Nightrain/Joe/and I over at Bassnutz are flipping the bill for the cost, We might put out a donation jar to recoupe some of our cost. Maybe a voluntary 5:00$ donation if possible? I'm not sure. Joe?

What to bring? GEAR!

Bryan R. Tyler
07-20-2006, 09:42 AM
C'mon, Joe- I ALWAYS plan on stripping.

Joe Turski
07-20-2006, 11:14 AM
A $5 donation would be greatly appreciated to help with the cost of food and such, but it's not neccessary.

What to bring? You're more than welcome to bring whatever you'd like. Gear is always the best thing to bring.

Joe Turski

Slight change in the time. It's now from 1 to 6pm.

I am interested but not definite. I have been having a lot of
work done on my place and hope to get it wrapped up in
August so I can get my stuff all moved back out of storage
and stop living out of plastic bags. I get most of the work
done that I need to take care of on the weekends, and it
has been nonstop for 4 months or more. Actually, the
project started Jan 1, but don't even go there.

Harry, if I was going I'd be happy to take you, but I think
you should work on a ride to be safe.

Funkster, it sho' does sound like fun though. :bassist:

You better be going Mang!!!! You can get out one day for a couple of hours or so,:smug: , Hell it's just up the road from you off 146! a lot closer than the last one. This one is going to be a blast!:bassist: I'm surprised at the lack of intrest though. A few months ago everyone from TB was bugging me to host a GTG.. Oh well more food/Beer and gear for us!:bassist:

I'm playing at a wedding in Illinois on Saturday the 29th and getting back on the 30th in the am. I went to the last couple of GTG's and can attest that they are really fun, but in my current condition I can't drive and I'd probably be pretty wiped out from the day on Saturday. It sucks because I'd like to do the GTG thing one more time before I "go". Anyway, if you are within driving distance you should think about going, TB people and Bassnutz people are all really cool and it's all about the "hang" anyway. Most of us old geezers just sit around talking about gear and the kids sit around playing the gear.

Are you sure you don't have July & August mixed up? July 29th was a Saturday (last Saturday actually) but August 29th is a Tuesday (and the GTG is on Sunday the 20th, before the 29th).

Chris A

Nah, I've got a wedding coming up in August. In Illlinois, and I'm going to be wiped out. The chemo I'm doing isn't that bad, but my blood counts go wicked low a week or 2 after the chemo. They did find a new tumor a month or so ago. I guess it's really big and pushing againsnt my liver and other things in there. They say it's not worth taking out because the quality of life it would give me wouldn't be that great. The chemo I'm on now seems to be working a little bit, the pain I had last week and the week before is almost gone, but they don't know how long this chemo will be effective. So, I guess that's it. I know that I'm not around as much as I used to be( I was a big lurker before anyway) so I've stepped down as mod. I'll try to still be around, but I just don't know how this is going to go down...............

Sorry, the wedding is Saturday the 19th. and I'll be wiped out on Sunday the 20th. I think the chemo makes my typing skills deteriorate, too...............

Easiest bet would be to get off the pike, take 395 south. Take exit 4A sutton ave. Follow it maybe 5 miles. Singletary Rod & Gun will be on your left hand side.

Well, there's a new GC in Milbury. That's about 10 minute ride from where we're going to be.

As far as gear goes,

My Stambaugh
Schroeder 310212
Carvin DCM1500
Boss GT6B

My wife just got done making potato salad, macaroni salad. I have three bags of ribs marinating.

One thing to try and remember to bring would be power surge protectors. I just bought 4 of them, but I highly doubt that will be enough.

+1 on the Elricks. Bryan has some fantastic gear. The four string was my favorite. That bass was so light and comfortable, and the tone was to die for.

I had a great time now that I'm at work and have a few moment's to write,, It was an absolute pleasure meeting all you guy's and it turned out to be a fabulouse afternoon! Good Grub great gear and good Peep's,, I thought it was a quality turnout. The jam at the end was cool and that monster PV Cab that Rog had was killer. I loved Joe's Stammy, And Kev's Acoustic rig! Zach's 62 J, Mike Dimin was very cool and put on a hell of a clinic. I think there was more socializing then anything.. It will be bigger and better next year!!! More gear, More Peep's and More of Joe's Rib's :tu
Thank you all who came and made this thing happen!!
