VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Wood filler for "inlay", or risk it with a CAM?

I know a guy who does engraving, and who could router me out any design I wanted in my neck. I'm thinking a nice little design around the 12th fret, and leaving the rest of the neck blank. The only problem being he doesn't do inlaying; he can only do the hole. Should I go with him, and fill the hole with wood filler? would that actually work?

The fretboard wood is wenge, and the filler is a mahogony colour, so the contrast should be sufficient. I could try using superglue and glitter, but this is a far riskier (although flashier looking) method.

The other option is to use the CAM machine at school to cut a hole in my fretboard, and to cut a piece of MOP a tiny tiny bit smaller to fit with a lot of pushing and a little glue. I'm not sure if it's even possible to get the fretboard into the CAM machine, and even if I did, trying to align it so the 12th fret would be in the middle, and the hole would be cut centred, would be almost impossible...

What should I do??:hmm:
