I am about to make these to new models any comments before I commit to wood would be appreciated.

I like the top one but I would vote to modify the lower horn (the top portion of the body kind of reminds me of a Pagelli). Not a fan of the bottom design.

Perhaps a little narrower and longer so it will sit better on your leg when you play sitting down. No offense but it looks a bit "stumpy", maybe you could work out something a bit more sleek and stylized? Otherwise your body desing is very classy and beautiful. Just my 2 cents.

I had a version with a longer horn but I seem to driven to get rid of the lower horn as much as possible but I may have taken it a bit to far this time.

I actually draw most of my designs with a very small lower horn, so I love it :). I don't enjoy the bottom one much.

I like the top one. Looks like its going a 100mph. If it sits on your knee allright I'd leave the bottom horn as is.:cool:

I thought I posted this earlier, but anyway:
The second one seems best to me. Give it a good forearm scoop on that extended butt, and it'll be very nice, I think.

the top one looks awesome on it's own...reminds me of the luthier on here (can't remember who it is) who does the instruments without coverplates (fishes everything through the pickup cavities)

Scott French I do believe. I was also reminded of his basses by that shape.

I have had a few comparisons with Scott which I have to say pleases me as his work is excellent.
The original guitar version of the second shape was done about 2 years ago and at the time I was unaware of Scott's work. I think so few people use reverse off-sets that it stands out for comparison when 2 people use them.

You are very correct regarding the reverse offsets. Scott, yourself, and Warwick (The Dophin, which Scott mentioned as being inspiration, I believe) are the only ones that come to mind.

I owned a Dolphin as well. Not for very long I could not get on with the neck but liked the over all shape which surfaced again when I started working on my own basses.

Yeah...it has one less squared-off horn.
