I'd like to find one in big context with my Acoustic image coda ATM 35 and realist.
Should I take the 8 or 4 ohm version ?
Thanks
PS Chris and Tom what version of this amp have you got in your belchfast ? You're the one who give me this cabinet in view wiht your good comments.

Should I take the 8 or 4 ohm version ? While I have not used the Glockenklang space deluxe cabinet, I do own an AI Coda and use it with an extension speaker when needed. Acoustic Image recommends using a 4 ohm extension speaker for maximum output.

Hi Pierre,
I had planned to start a thread about this cabinet, but now I don't have to! I bought an 8 ohm version of the Glockenklang Space Deluxe about two months ago, mainly on the recommendation of the Ohio Belchers. I thought it might work for me because I had tried several of the other cabs in their shootout and our opinions matched in almost every case.
I really like this cabinet. I use it with a Walter Woods 300w head. It has a deep, round tone. It can get plenty loud without breaking up, which is a problem with some of the smaller cabinets I've tried. I'm a doubler, and I find that for DB I tend to cut the bass a little bit but for EB I just set everything flat. I don't use the tweeter for DB, but sometimes I'll use a little for EB and I find it to be well integrated in the overall sound. In fact, this is probably the best doubling cab I've ever used.
It's not perfect, though. At 43 lbs. it's no lightweight. It has one large handle on the side and you end up carrying it like a suitcase. Most of the load-ins around here are fairly easy so it's not a problem for me, but this is NOT a cab I'd want to take on the NYC or Paris subway. Also, it's expensive. I paid $675.00 US and that was about the best deal I could find. It only has speakon connections so you may need to buy a new cable, but that's a minor point.
Overall, I'd say that if you only play DB you may be able to find something smaller and lighter that would do the job just as well. If you're a doubler, or if you often find yourself in situations where you need to be louder and don't have PA support, then this one is hard to beat.

P.S. A big thank you to the guys in Ohio for turning me on to this. I had never even heard of the Space Deluxe until the belching began .........

That's a great sounding box. I think the size of the cabinet is part of what makes it sound so good. It actually felt light compared to the VL208, but it does have a bigger footprint. The real kudos go to LOCUTUS of BORG for bringing it. I still can't believe how much **** he managed to cram into that little Audi wagon.

Hi Jim-
I noticed in your profile you had a bag end 15 . I also have the bag end and WW Green light . I was interested in the Glock since reading the Ohio BF review.
I was wondering if you ever used the glock and bag end together , and if so, how well do they work together?
I also double, and when I combine my bag end and eden 2x10 (both 8ohms ) The WW gives a fair bit more output .( handy for louder EB gigs).
I guess my hope would be to replace the eden with the glock- downsizing physically and maybe upgrading sonicly.
Thanx

Why don't you get Acoustic Art Cabinet? I compared both with Space, it is so much different in sound quality, finally my choice is Acoustic Art.

The Glockenklang Acoustic Art is their top of the line cabinet. I hear it is fabulous. But it costs about $2000 more than the Space Deluxe.

Not that much, I bought it for EURO 950 plus shipping. It is the most natural full range cab I have. Even sometimes I use it for playing acoustic and hollow body guitar with AI amp , and it works really well.

I've known about the Acoustic Art cabinet for some time. I've always wanted to try one because I've heard that they sound fantastic, but two things have stopped me: 1. Cost - Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place, but I've never seen one for sale in the U.S. for less than $2,000. At the current exchange rate, 950 euros equals about $1,280. Add shipping to that and I'd still be paying twice as much as I did for the Space Deluxe (my cost included freight). 2. Weight - IIRC, the Acoustic Art weighs about 56 lbs. Quite a bit for a 1x10 and just a little too heavy for me. I'd still love to try one, though ....
Kaybass, I haven't tried the Glock with the Bag End in a gig situation yet, just practice room stuff. Oddly enough, the Bag End seems to have more mids than the Glock. The Glock mids don't seem to be scooped (like on the Epifani UL112, for example), they just don't seem as pronounced as the Bag End. Seems strange to say that about a 1x15. I'm looking forward to giving them a workout together. FWIW, the footprint of the Glock on end matches the Bag End almost exactly.
Jim
Edit: I just checked the Glockenklang website and the Acoutic Art cab is listed at 44 lbs, not 56. Not sure where I got that .....

No problem! I really enjoyed the hang, and I thought that the Glock sounded great with the double bass.

Tom, your blog listing gear for sale isn't working. Could you email me a list of what's in there?
