Have any of you had any problems with Hand dermatitis? I keep getting these little micro-blisters on my left hand, I play mostly with a bow so I am guessing that is why my right hand does not have them.

Rumor has it that "nickel" can be a major cause of this problem. I am using Helicore Hybrids which I am guessing may be nickel. Never had the problem until the new strings.

Reedo - I never went THERE in the first place...this is Gruffdog's little fetish, not mine. ;)

One thing that might help before applying the lotion, however, is to "sand" the little blisters flat with a nail sanding block. I use these all the time on my right hand when I get blisters from pizz playing. They help a lot in keeping the skin from peeling when the blister breaks.

Hi Chris,

I think what Gruff has is different to ordinary blisters from overplaying, if that's what you mean.

Note what he said.

As he has never had this before, my assumption is that it's going to be related to the new strings, and nickel allergy dermatitis.

Hey Hey lets keep my fetish out of this. :D

Thanks for the links Bass Guitar some of the pics on the site look like my finger tips. There are some of girls with nickle necklaces that have black stains, it doesn't look like that. Hopefully a change of strings shall cure the problem. At $100 a pop it seems like a costly test but worth the money if it stops. It does not prevent me from playing but my finger tips start to itch a couple hours after playing.

Kind of surprised I am the only one that has delt with this. Real nice being the gifted one sometimes. :)
