Chase_The_Bass 09-17-2006, 10:04 PM I'd tell ya to do a forum search...but I think it is still down. I cant explain very well, but im sure someone will come along. Metallkasten 09-17-2006, 11:12 PM Ohms are a unit of electrical resistance. If you're much into cars, think of it like back-pressure in an exhaust system. The less resistence, the more freely electricity will be conducted. Basically. morf 09-18-2006, 06:39 AM What he said. Ohms is about impedance. For example, if you take two pairs of speakers which are the exact same model (hypothetically), except one pair is 4 ohms and the other is 8 ohms, the 4 ohms pair will need more watts to cover its whole frequency spectrum, whereas the 8 ohms pair will need less watts to be the same efficiency.
