For all of you Roscoe owners out there looking to add yet another classy upgrade to your bass you might want to consider having some custom knobs made. I recently saw the ones Akito had THG make for his Roscoe and liked them so much that I ordered a set for mine. Roger at THG is great to work with. I sent him a picture of my bass and he did a great job matching the spalted top and African Tulipwood finger board.

I really think it adds a nice woody tone to the bass too………….

Very classy Joe!! I love the tulipwood shafts, as opposed to the solid spalt maple.

....and I hear that wood knobs improve your playing too.

Hey Joe,
That looks outstanding! I didn't think that your bass could get any better, but it has. Those knobs look outstanding! ;)

What'd those set you back?

Thanks guys!:)

IMO it really adds to the hand made look of the bass. I was a bit worried about THG matching the some what busy spalted maple top (spalt comes in so many different grades) but I think he really did a great job!

I don't want to appear to be hijacking, but I thought I would show my THG knobs that came on my Warrior when I bought it new last year. Nice touch even on a bass without a figured top. In case you were wondering about the wood choices. The top of the knob is rosewood (like my headstock face), and the bottom is mahagony (like my mahogany/purpleheart/mahogany neck through).

What'd those set you back?

The knobs were $27.50 ea. for the 3 std. tappered knobs and $52 for the dual concentric knobs. You can get them made much cheaper if you go with the traditionial dome knobs and/or stick to a single selection of wood.
I just wanted some a bit more special. It took about 3-1/2 weeks to receive them after firming up the order with THG. As I mentioned earlier, Roger (THG) is a great guy to work with and really produces a great end product.

No problem at all. Those look great! THG has quite a few pictures of knobs on their Web site that they made for Warrior basses.

Joe,
Those knobs look great...I've been on the fence about getting a set made for my Roscoe and I think this may have given me the nudge I needed. :ninja: :ninja:

Thanks Shawn!
Give Roger @THG a call and he'll take care of you.
It would be hard to imagine your Roscoe looking any better but I think some custom knobs could take it up another notch over the threshold!:)
