a fantastic style, so many groovy jamerson walking lines all over the place..I suspect his sound was mostly due to his technique,but anyone know what he used as an amp/bass..?

Depends on the year. I've seen him use Fender, Steinberger, Ampeg, DB...

Speaking of Jerry, I just got an amazing studio like quality bootleg of Jerry, Cassady, Jorma, and Mickey playing at 2400 Fulton, the Jefferson Airplane house in '69. Very cool.
