Shadow Circus is looking for a prog-rock bass monster! We are currently recording our first album. Until now, I have been handling bass, guitar, and keyboards by myself. AT this point, the music would clearly benefit from someone who is really dedicated to bass guitar.

Our sound is very 70's classic prog influenced (Yes, Genesis, ELP, Rush, etc.). The music has naturally a more modern sound, and with some very strong, catchy hooks as well. Previews of some of the songs in their demo form are up on our myspace page at:

Expectations of availability: We all work full-time, so this will be a fairly easy commitment. The right player can prepare to record with a few rehearsals (preferably weekends). Once the CD is done, we will look toward booking live shows, but only if/when the cd draws enough attention to justify it.

As for touring, once again, only if there is backing...I don't want to live on a bus if I don't have to!

No mercenaries -- I can tell you that it won't cost you anything, I take care of rehearsals and recording and all the expenses. If/when this band gets any backing, I'd love to see this project provide financially for its members.

VERY VERY cool stuff, if I only had more time on my hands I'd jump at the opportunity.
Bump for an awesome band!

Thanks Relic, that's really nice of you to say!

Hey, we only have three more rehearsals on Sunday evenings till the cd's done, then nothing to worry about for a month or two after that -- think about it!

Cheers,

John

This is just to report that we have found a full-time bass player, Matt Masek -- thanks to all who wrote, and for the kind words about the music...

Cheers,

John
