VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Roscoe Gigbags?

I couldn't find any info by searching here or looking around the Roscoe site.

What bags does Roscoe use if you select the Gigbag option for a case? I have one of the Form-Fit cases and like it, but I'm curious about the gigbags.

Jeff -

We're still working on the gigbag, I'm expecting our prototype from our supplier any day now for approval.

The bag compares extremely well to the Undercover Double I personally use now.

I was only thinking the other night that I wanted to go back to using a gig bag again as often a case can be a bit cumbersome. Warwick seem to have cornered the market in the UK - any ideas for an alternative that fits please?

Jeff Moote

That's good news. I've got a bag that is similar to (or is?) an undercover single bag that my SKB fits in. I will be interested to see what the double bags are like when they come in :)

I'll be posting about it here, once we're "officially" committed to a gigbag. :)

Yes, wait for ours! ;)

...if not, several retailers sell the Undercover bag, and I can highly recommend it, from much personal experience.

Gard sold me one of those double Undercover gig bags when he was at Bass Central. It's all I use whether I'm hauling one bass or two. It's real durable with double and triple stitching in some areas, holds two basses great, has a small pocket for your tools, keys, and something like a tuner and a big pocket for a band chart book, cord, strap, etc...

If the gig bag is comperable to the Undercover gig bag, I'd get one if I didn't already have the Undercover bag.

Good going Roscoe Dudes!

The good thing is I have a couple of Roscoe cases and since I'm going to Roscoeville to pick up the bass, I'll just bring one of my cases (empty of course) and have Gard ship me a Double gig bag when they arrive.

Proving once again that you can have your cake and eat it too!.....or would that be "have your Roscoe and play it too"?:)

On-the-other-hand, I do have two daughters who look like me to proove that. BUT ALSO NOT BEING SHOWN ON THE INTERNET.

But... according to Gard's interpretation of your logic, if you have no pics of daughters, then you have no daughters... and if you have no pics of daughters and thus no daughters, then you have no evidence of the existence of a penis.

I say you get Gard's email address and send him the evidence he requested. Macro shots, even. Just don't post them here to torture the rest of us, he's the one that asked for them! :ninja:

Man, that is a text-book case of transference, right there folks.

:D

Just to confirm, I believe I had my Century about 3-4 months before you ordered and 10 months before you were hands on.

Oh, and I got my red double Undercover gigbag in 2001 (still got the recipt somewhere...), and you got yours in...???

;)

...on the gigbag color...you guys are truly disappointing me! How lame!!! Black??? Every damn gigbag in the universe is black!!! I really think the grey with black logo is so much more unique and interesting.

And here's a point: The reason I got the RED Undercover is because no one can just walk out with it at a club. A black one, no one will even look at you. I think the grey will have a similar advantage, it'll "stand out" too much, black "blends in".

...sigh...

(Too bad for all you black fans that Keith & I have already both put our votes in for the grey! :hyper: ;) )

The Dub is real nice! The zippers operate very smoothly, it's got sufficient padding and 2 external storage compartments (one 1'x1'; one 1'x4"). It's got dual straps on the rear for wearing it on your back and it seems to be made out of very durable fabric.

Joe forgot to mention that the bag (and all contents thereof) were rolled up into a box that measured about 12" x 18" x 18". You probably didn't want the two cocobolo basses that were in there....

...as for when they'll be generally available, give me a couple weeks, we're working on getting the first "real" order in. According to the supplier, it will be about a 60 day turnaround.

Oh, and I made an "executive decision" (which is what I do as the manager ;) ), and have decided that we're going with the grey bag/black embroidery. There are plenty of black ones out there, I want us to be different. On leather, no plans yet, but it's possible one day.

It's a sickness really...no matter how bad the team is. At least we may have a shot at the first pick in the draft.

I'm actually pulling for your Saints by the way!

Being a life-long Saints fan, I have the same disease, actually, so I respect your pain this season. Hopefully, they'll get the ship right, but until AD is gone, I don't see much hope.

Thanks, I've got high hopes for them. I really do think they can take the NFC...however, winning it all, tough, the AFC is scary.

You have my sympathies.

I gigged tonight and brought 2 Roscoe's to the gig in the Roscoe Dub Bag. It worked out great!
It's lighter than the Incase Dub bag and holds both basses very safe & securely.
The storage compartments are really nice too. They hold quite a few accessories.
I walked into the gig with two basses on my back, my Thunderfunk in one hand and a Berg HT-112 in the other.

One trip gigging! Sweet!:)

Great product!

AWESOME!

This is exactly what I hope to be doing in a few months!! The only difference is that my head will fit in the big pocket on the Gigbag so I can carry both Bergs ;) :D

How does it protect compared to the Incase? I have the Incase single gig bag (the original one). And I am kinda used to the weight because it is built like a tank.

It's not nearly as stiff as the Incase. The Incase is very close to an old style Roscoe soft case. The Roscoe gig bag is just stiff enough to stand up by itself but with little effort it can be bent (it did as Gard stated arrive in a 12" x 18" x 18" box :) ).

I hear ya' dude!:) I guess timing is everything......Give Gard a call and go ahead and get a place in the line for the first batch.....I think Gard said that the manufacturer promised them 60 days after the initial order was placed.

I wonder who got the proto single Roscoe bag?:hmm:

I've gotten as many compliments on the gig Bag as I have the bass. They gray really looks classy and the black embroidered Roscoe logo is a very nice touch! (hard to believe that I orignally voted for the black bag!:p )

OK, it's "official" now, we placed the order with our supplier last night for the grey bags with black logo, both single and double.

We were told that we should expect availability in April, but no more specific than that at this time, so, check back in April!

I'm still waiting for an ETA on the bags, but the word is the bags left the factory via container, and are enroute. Hopefully, "soon" is when we'll have 'em.

There's been a thread which announce it for a few days already but it seems that it is a bit unnoticed.
;)

So yes, the Roscoe gigbag are here !
:)

Crashclint, could you give us your first impressions on the double ? How it compares with some other wellknown bag ?...

For myself I'm still hesitating :
Roscoe bag which seems sturdy and have Roscoe logo on it...
or my usual Rockbag premium+ which is the best bag I found at a fair price...

Cheers

It is a nice bag, I like it, the straps have plenty of adjustment so you can get the bag to sit comfortable on your back without sticking up a mile over your head. The padding is nice and plush as is the seperator, mine is a double. To get an idea of what they look like, go here and look at the Undercover bags. http://www.basscentral.com/2003/gigbags.shtml
