Hi Janek!
I really admire your playing and your music. I'm sorry if this has been brought up before.

I'm going to my first audition ever next week. Pretty serious stuff, not major label but she has a single in stores etc. The music is pop/r'n'b.
Basicly, what do they expect from you? What and how sould i prepare?

Thanks for your atention!

hi,

sorry it took a couple of days to get back in here and reply. I've been working flat out and it's been crazy.

for a pop audition you should be most concious about your image. They want to see a player who is going to look good in the group they are auditioning for. As well as having your playing together of course. Don't play any flashy licks in the audition, play only what is required within the context of the tune. figure out who the Musical director is on the audition if there is one there and make sure to be able to take direction from this person at any time.

Just have fun, don't stand there like a stick man. Pop gigs normally require that you move around in the context of the music and have fun.

Easy,

Janek
