dear all, lately i am working on the electronics of a vintage epiphone japan bass, bass has two pup, the original config is a Les Paul style neck-off-bridge type pup switch located on tehe lower horn, an at standard pot/knob position, it has a vol and a tone.

I want it be able to switch on both pup at once , so i rewire the pots to a vol vol tone config, see the diagram

It is a very straight forward Jbass wiring scheme.
However, i find that hte tone pot didnt affect the overall tone as welll, which is basically fail to preform.

had anyonce see such case before? need help

wait, so the tone pot is on the switch? how does that work. maybe a picture of the bass would help.

oh.. no sorry dude. i took away the switch and replace that with a tone pot so no additional drilling.

ps yes i am king of Paint!! the most complicated drawing soft of the world..hahahha yeah!!

Your volume pots should be connected to the output jack and the tone pot should be wired in parallel. From your drawing it doesn't look like that is the way it is wired. If you could explain exactly how the pots are hooked up it would be easier to help.

Dare I ask what kind of bass? Sounds like something that's been happening to one of mine, but I managed to replace everything

Wire it the way keyboardguy's diagram shows and it should work quite well.

thanks all, yes. i wire all my bass in the standard jazz bass diagram
but this weird case is the tone pot is very far away from the chain.. the distance between vol to outpot pots is 3 time shorter than that from vol to tone.. i just wonder wil that affect the tone function..
