Jerry Ziarko 11-06-2006, 12:15 PM Late in Sept I was browsing the TB classifides, and noticed a beautiful looking LG 3005 for sale. Realizing the last thing I needed was another bass at this time, I made a play for this Roscoe. ;) It was on hold for someone, and actually sold to another party. :(
Through a strange turn of events, I ended up with this bass, and felt fate was trying to play a stange trick on me. Since receiving the bass, I've tried everyway possible to find a reason not to like it. The tone, nope it's there, the workmanship, flawless, the neck, (which I heard was chunky?) nope, very comfortable, and the weight, just stupidly light!! (7.9lbs) With a month of gigs under my belt I'm afraid this bass just might be a keeper. I can't seem to put it down, and have a new found vigor for heading back to the woodshed. I have even gone as far as selling a bass I liked VERY much to help pay for this beauty. And lastly, the finish reminds me of the toasted coconut on top of the c-cream pie my mom made when I was a kid. I can't think of a better reason than that to hang on to her. :D
maurilio 11-06-2006, 12:34 PM Right on! Congratulation! but you know how it is... no pics, no bass! :smug:
Show us the beauty!
Enjoy!

Joel B 11-06-2006, 01:13 PM Yeah, show us the cream pie.
Now I have to go to the bakery and buy a real coconut cream pie.
You are truly an inspiration. :D
maurilio 11-06-2006, 02:00 PM ... yep! and plus, I ADORE coconut.... so... show us the pie!

T. B. Player 11-06-2006, 06:40 PM mmmmm...co..co..nut. (Another "Z" bassist!! And you're from Rochester! What's the name of that huge supermarket chain there? Their cakes are awesome, so I'll bet their pies are too!)
What makes it better that something you can eat is that it's a Roscoe - it's non-fattening, and you can make money with it!!
Hey Gard - since this thread was inspiring, how about a marketing tag line for Roscoe Guitars...
Here's an idea to start the process...
"You won't be able to put it down."
I think that works on a couple different levels...

That alone qualifies you Roscoe as a family heirloom!
Let me help you out with the ad campaign one-line T.B.,
"Roscoe basses, just like moms home made cream pie, they can take a lickin' while ya' keep on picking"
Jerry Ziarko 11-06-2006, 08:49 PM T.B.. You're talking about Wegmans, the king of the supermarket chains. Oh and the bass, some of you have seen it before,TPB#6.
Joel B 11-07-2006, 12:27 AM OHHHHH, Eggmans old bass. Very cool.
JOME77 11-07-2006, 05:41 AM That was definitely the nicest looking one of the Perfect Bass specials!
The enhanced grain looks very nice!
I can see why you're excited about playing it!;)
Jerry -
Man, I'm VERY pleased to hear that you are so happy with that bass!
:hyper:
I was really beginning to wonder what the HECK was up with it, star-crossed...cursed...dunno...but man, that was THE bass out of that batch of basses, had it all goin' on: looks, playability, and tone were off the hook on it.
Passed through two players before landing there, I really do hope it's "home".
That bass inspired my soon to be finished 2nd personal bass, actually! :D
Bassmanbob 11-08-2006, 02:41 PM Hey Jerry. Nice piece of Ash! I really like a nice piece of Ash!:D

Fate is strange. I actually was first in line for this bass from the guy that bought it from eggman. I talked it over with my wife that evening and she thought I should wait a bit before making another bass purchase. I reluctantly passed and thus is was passed to the next guy in line, who you wound up buying it from.
So, in a strange way, you're welcome!;)
All's well that ends well though! You're very happy with the bass and I have a new SKB 3005 with Nords under contruction now!
Isn't life great?:D

SO YOU"RE THE ONE! The way I see it, you owe me a few hundred dollars for pain and suffering. :p

LOL:D
Ryan L. 11-10-2006, 08:43 PM Once you're hooked, you're hooked.:) I am getting rid of my SKB3006s out of necessity, but there is one hell of a replacement in the horizon, and yes, it is another Roscoe. I have yet to find another bass with the playability that my Roscoes have.
