Hey Janek!
I heard rumours that you played bass for Beyonce's Deja-Vu song and/or album. Is that right? If not, who plays bass for Beyonce live and on the B'Day album.
Thanks
Michi

Michi,
who told you that? As far as I know I didn't play it. I'm definitely going to check on my session log and see what instrumental tracks I played on that could have become that song.
I doubt it was me though. and if it was I want a bigger cheque!
Easy,
Janek

Thanks a lot Janek, I believe you :)
I'm going to transcrive the song and I don't know what name to write in the Bass Player Box.
I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure MC Divinity (who also plays in Victor Wooten's band) is playing live with her (she's certiainly in a couple of the videos and TV appearances), but not sure who played on the album.
Cheers,

would make way more sense for Guche to be playing on that track.
he's a bad dood, and is totally in that west coast scene.

I'm pretty sure Sharay is playing with Beyone most of the time. Is he still in Chicago?

Devinity is the bass player with Beyonce. It's an all girl band. My girl Kim Thompson plays drums. We used to play with Mike Stern together. In fact, we have a gig at the 55bar in NYC together with Mike on Wednesday.....

I checked the album notes for Deja-vu and Bass credits (if my memory seves me correctly) were for someone called Jo-Jo (or similar). Real nice Bassline anyway! Is great to hear some grooves like that in the pop charts, so top marks to Beyonce and her crew!

Jon Jon Web played the Bass line on the track Deja Vu by Beyonce and Devinity is the Bass that is currently touring with Beyonce.
