Hopefully, a few of y'all have heard of buckethead (it's worth it, man. check him out on youtube). Albeit that he's a guitarist, I can't help but wonder just where he gets that little tremolo button he likes to use so much. I hope they make them somewhere, because I'm REALLY thinkin about installin that on my old frankenbass.

As always, I'd start at Radio Shack. They ought to have a momentary button switch you can use as an interruptor.

It's simple to find the right sort of switch; It's another deal getting it to fit under a pickguard.

A guitarist friend has a push-pull switch on the volume control of his Strat that breaks the signal. He's disabled the latching mechanism so it's always springs back to the 'out' position so he can just tap on it to cut out the sound.

You'll need a push to break momentary switch, that's something you can find at Radio Shack.

A doorbell works fine. connect the bridge and the input and voila

+1 to a normally closed momentary, but I think an normally open momentary that went to ground when closed would also do the trick.
You could also go the Tom Morello route and do a center off toggle switch.

Is this effect like Jack White of the White Stripes uses on his Airline??

Don't have much input on the killswitch, but I'll agree that buckethead is indeed definitely a guitarist worth checking out.
