Also, if I were to use that, I would only need to rout a flat channel, not a curved one, correct? I'm still deciding if I want to make a bolt-on or a neck through... can I use the same truss rod for either? Thanks!

I've utilized the trussrod above, but prefer the LMI TRBSD here

This requires a shallower slot, and it weighs quite a bit less than its cousin at StewMac

I got a Doeringer truss rod off of ebay, and I like it very much.
Great price and straightforward installation.

Cliff Bordwell sells truss rods on ebay, I have bought a few off him, and have become rather fond of them. They are longer, 25", use a straight 1/4" bit for the channel, and the channel is shallower for customers who want thinner necks.

Exactly. :rolleyes:

You can make them go from within the head to well into the body, or from about first fret to just about into the heel, and it will still work OK. There is a "best solution" for each design, but the standard deviation is minimal.
