I was thinking about swapping a G&L mini humbucker into my Pedulla Rapture. (and converting the EQ to vol/tone.)

My question is: how hot is this humbucker? My issue with the Bart HB that's in there now is that it's pretty low output. (and I'm not getting the warmth of a passive P/U.)

I understand the split P in an SB-2 is super hot whereas the J in the same bass is considerably weaker. where would you say the mini HB falls?

I was looking at this particular HB since it seems to be very close in size to the Bart that's in there now. (avoiding all the saw/chisel/dremel/swear/cut/bleed stuff.)

Thanks for the input.

Do you have a HB-2? That is the pickup that was in the Interceptor and El Toro. Unless you have one in hand I doubt you would find one.

I think it is about the same as the SB-2 bridge pickup. Perhaps a little hotter. It isn't that the SB-2 bridge pup is not hot it is the location doesn't give much. Really it just acts as a tone control. Add some in you cut through better.

I'll take it if it doesn't work for you. Dibs! ;)

Do you have the single pickup Rapture? If so, then I assume you're referring to G&L's MFD humbucker. It has very high output, and a more aggressive tone than any Bartolini set I've heard. (Though I guess the Tobias Growler's Bartolini pickup is in the same ballpark.) If you install one in a single pickup Rapture, you'll essentially have a G&L L-1500. If I recall, the Rapture has a maple body, so the tone might be extremely bright with an MFD. I don't know, just food for thought.
