it's a couple of years old,recent...been checked, retubed preamp tube..everything clean and kept well.
no flaws, clean as a whistle.treated like a baby, covered, powered on and off correctly and no drinks, smoke, crap on it.. i even wrapped it in bubble wrap when i had it looked at and retubed.

.I am looking for super volume..
.750-1200 wt hybrid/solid state amp.or even better,
*a good power amp and preamp* is what I really need,I need power, clean low end at higher volumes...

I will trade only for a very high wattage amp or power amp/pre combo , this amp is in clean shape, never abused. The tone is hot, breaks up warmly with that tube warmth.for most bands it's earth shakingly loud. it will sound sweet and round, full and sustainy..very expressive and "plush" for that sweet, ballad stuff..and for rock?..fugettaboutit!
I traded 4-5 great amps before settling on this.the tone is unreal. Playing bigger venues now, rather have a rack amp at 15-20 lbs, instead of an 80lb SVT.
But for that classic rock tone, this is it.

in nyc area...
please email me, i don't check my PM's as often..

Sorry to butt in, but have you tried an SVT4-Pro specifically and confirmed that the amp has enough headroom for your tastes/needs?

Not that the're anything wrong with the 4-Pro, mind you. But a power amp/preamp combo might also provide what you are looking for at a similar price point and possibly with more watts.

I would like to add that I went from a SVT 4 Pro setup to a SVT Classic, and actually felt like I had far more headroom with the Classic! I would definitely try the SVT 4 first! It seems to be well accepted around here that the power output on them is grossly exaggerated! Plus, you might be able to find one of those SVT-IIPs (preamp to the SVT 2 amp) and a decent power amp for around the same price as a used SVT 4. This setup would give you the ultimate tubiness of the SVT II (whose preamp is supposed to resemble the original SVTs the closest), with all the clean power you might need....

you guys are absolutely right,
i changed the title of my post..
I had the pro4 as well, and know what it's like..
but yes, I can aim a little higher, I think I DO need to go with a power amp and pre..that's the only way to get the power I want.
