Hey guys,
I recently made a few bass technique videos. Nothing really intense, just a few videos to see how the whole video creation/uploading works on YouTube.
Here they are:
Open Hammer Pluck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1628r_bavUc
16th Note Funk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lZ3tin2eMg
Left Hand Slap: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CTZeqAPmWM
Nothing too advanced, but maybe these'll be a helpful resource for fellow bassists. It's a start. Video requests, comments, and questions are all appreciated!

Great stuff, man! My only "complaint" is that the audio track sounds like a heavily compressed mp3. Maybe you should try using a better quality for encoding it. I like so much your tone, BTW. :)

Thanks!
Yeah, maybe I should reupload them with better quality audio, since it's all recorded 24-bit, etc. Kinda a waste when it's put in such low-quality audio.
I plan on doing some more videos with Jazz piano theory, etc., since I'm a keyboardist. Maybe also do some music tech sort of thing where I review audio equipment and test out VSTis and stuff.
Thanks for the compliment about my tone! It's definitely something I spent years searching for. Just the right bass, pickups, and such. And then just how your fingers themselves effect the tone, too. (though that's an aspect which you have a little less control over--but that's the beauty of music anyway)

Enjoyed the videos. It really does help to see the techniques in action. I wish I could of saw your right hand in action too on the funk.

Thanks for the input, Bass2Live. In the future I will feature more of the bass and less of my face in the videos. ;)
please excuse my ignorance, but I am an old coot and have never been on U tube before now ... I get it to play for about 2 seconds and then it quits for about 10 ... 2 on 10 off, etc ... am I doing something wrong?? ... also, I have MSN tv if you know what that is, not a regular computer ... do I need to click on something to make it play through ... thanks

You must let the video to buffer for watching it without those annoying interruptions. There's a red bar at the bottom of the video screen that indicates the download progress. When I enter a YouTube link, I press the Pause button and let the bar load at least a bit after half of the video, so it will play continuously when I press "Play". Or, if you have patience, you may let it load fully first so you'll have a guaranteed smooth reproduction flow all the way through.
Hope this helps.
Cool videos. Looking forward to seeing more.
