I don't think Kirk as a good guitarist anyways. Cubeface 12-23-2006, 05:40 PM Yeah... that was pretty bad. I think the best Pink Floyd cover is Colonel Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade's CD: Live Frogs Set 2. It's pretty hard to beat that. vindy500 12-23-2006, 05:45 PM i thought it was bad, until the last 20 seconds that made me almost wanna cry bassguppy 12-23-2006, 05:53 PM several years back a guitarist friend of mine saw Kirk in the Bay area (SF) at a local jam (I believe they live in the area). He said he could barely do a standard blues solo. SlavaF 12-23-2006, 06:11 PM I wouldn't blame that train wreck totally on Kirk... Rob could have at least learned the proper chord progression instead of winging in (terribly) front of thousands of fans... Kirk was pretty bad though:ninja: CROZ 12-23-2006, 06:20 PM I'm not saying Kirk isn't entirely to blame (because he is for even attempting it), but you do need to setup a guitar for slide, i'd imagine it would be fairly difficult on a low action metal guitar with jumbo frets and light gauge strings. And yeah, he's totally lost without his wah pedal. Jazz Ad 12-23-2006, 06:23 PM It looked like mindless teenage jam at the end of a rehearsal. Atoz 12-23-2006, 07:28 PM Oh... I thought this thread was going to be about Shatner. cowsgomoo 03-15-2007, 10:50 AM Oh... I thought this thread was going to be about Shatner. nope... but there's still time http://a485.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/18/l_383a2028cb8a9e2d0af4cc15a05dd56c.gif Philbiker 03-15-2007, 11:15 AM MISTER TAMBOURINE MAN!!!!! It didnt sound that bad. I mean you'd expect more from a kind of professional band like Metallica. The ending did sound a little messy. Matt Till 03-16-2007, 12:43 PM I dont know what that was. It didnt sound that bad. I mean you'd expect more from a kind of professional band like Metallica. The ending did sound a little messy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTrNQCYh70Y I prefer this version Kirk's playing is like a little box, when he attempts to step outside his little box, he sounds like garbage. But in his defense, Rob butchered it just as bad. Nino Valenti 03-16-2007, 02:18 PM That was AWFUL!!!! The BurgerMeister 03-16-2007, 02:23 PM horrible! horrible! horrible!!!!!!! GrooveWarrior 03-16-2007, 02:38 PM Rob butchered it just as bad. Rob is certainly no Guy Pratt!!!! Matthew Bryson 03-16-2007, 02:40 PM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTrNQCYh70Y I prefer this version Kirk's playing is like a little box, when he attempts to step outside his little box, he sounds like garbage. But in his defense, Rob butchered it just as bad. +1 Rob butchered the song before Kirk ever started... then it got worse. :rollno: Metallica used to be my favorite band... 15 years ago. Now they are just bad! olaff421 03-16-2007, 02:42 PM poop. That is all. pstyle 03-16-2007, 02:51 PM that did suck looked like an improvised impulse jam but nevertheless, he has more money than he knows what to do with and has sold 100 million albums. bikeplate 03-16-2007, 02:58 PM HI They obvioulsy were wingin' it. Well, at least I hope they were wingin' it. LOL Rob ALiP BoB 03-16-2007, 03:01 PM I wish I could say that it's aweful but I don't listen to Pink Floyd. :hiding: Atomik Rooster 03-16-2007, 03:07 PM MISTER TAMBOURINE MAN!!!!! I just heard Shatner's take on that this morning... the involuntary gag reflex kicked in within seconds. Not as bad as Leonard Nimoy singing "If I Had A Hammer", but definitely a contender. RWP 03-16-2007, 03:09 PM Oh... I thought this thread was going to be about Shatner. Me too. :smug: Beej 03-16-2007, 03:14 PM I wish I could say that it's aweful but I don't listen to Pink Floyd. :hiding: Sacrilege... :D Mike Flynn 03-16-2007, 03:19 PM I can confirm that was f***ing sh!te - horrible bass work as well - where's the f**king groove guys? - doing that in front of a crowd that big is shameful - ego, ego, ego....
